Privacy

LLC Name Check does not require an account, and the site does not save a history of your checks. When you run a check, the proposed name and selected state are sent to our server so we can return the requested results.

Information processed

Your browser runs the basic naming-rule checks. For states where a public dataset is supported, our server sends a name search to that state's Socrata-powered open-data service. For every check, we create a matching .com candidate and send that domain to Verisign's registration-data service. These requests let us return possible state-record matches and the current .com registry status.

Our hosting and security providers may keep ordinary request, device, network, and error logs for reliability and abuse prevention.

Measurement

We use Vercel Analytics and Speed Insights to understand aggregate usage and performance. Product analytics contain result categories and state codes, not the proposed business name. We use Sentry to detect application errors. Sentry is configured without session replay, performance tracing, or default personal-information collection. Before an error is sent, we remove request bodies, query strings, outbound lookup values, and proposed business names.

External websites

State open-data services and Verisign process the searches described above under their own privacy policies. Official state registries, the USPTO, and domain registrars also have their own privacy policies when you follow a link to their websites.
